Description
Traeger Ranger is a portable wood pellet grill designed for camping, travel and outdoor cooking where a full-size grill would be impractical. It provides 176 sq. in. / approximately 1,135 cm² of cooking space, an 8 lb / approximately 3.6 kg hopper, and a maximum temperature of 450°F / approximately 232°C.
🌡️ DIGITAL ARC CONTROLLER
The Digital Arc Controller lets you adjust temperature in small increments and is designed to maintain the selected cooking temperature. Traeger's Advanced Grilling Logic supports consistent temperature performance.
🔥 UP TO 450°F / 232°C
Ranger offers a versatile range from low-and-slow smoking through to a maximum of 450°F / approximately 232°C, making it suitable for smoking, baking, roasting and grilling.
🍳 INCLUDED CAST-IRON GRIDDLE
An included cast-iron griddle expands cooking options for searing steaks, burgers, eggs, bacon and other flat-top foods.
🌡️ INCLUDED MEAT PROBE
Traeger confirms that one meat probe is included, allowing internal food temperature to be checked without repeatedly lifting the lid.
♨️ KEEP WARM MODE
Keep Warm Mode keeps cooked food warm until it is time to serve, which can be especially useful during camping and travel.
⏱️ COOK TIMER
The integrated cook timer can remind you when it is time to check food, add sauce or move to the next stage of a recipe.
🌫️ 8 LB / 3.6 KG HOPPER
The hopper holds 8 lb / approximately 3.6 kg of wood pellets, providing useful fuel capacity for such a compact grill.
▭ 176 SQ. IN. COOKING SPACE
Traeger officially lists 176 sq. in. of total cooking space, or approximately 1,135 cm², with an easy-clean porcelain-coated steel grate.
Official capacity is approximately:
- 1 rib rack
- 6 burgers
- 10 hot dogs.
🧳 PORTABLE DESIGN
Secure lid latches keep the grill closed during transport. Official weight is 60 lb / approximately 27.2 kg.
🔌 ELECTRIC POWER
Ranger uses electrical power for its controller, ignition and pellet-feed system. Traeger's North American specification lists 120 V AC / 250 W; electrical requirements should be checked on the regional TFT18KLDE rating plate before use rather than assuming North American voltage applies.
📵 NO WiFIRE®
Traeger explicitly states that Ranger does not feature WiFIRE® connectivity. Operation is handled directly through the Digital Arc controller.
🍖 WHAT YOU CAN COOK
Burgers, steaks, sausages, hot dogs, chicken, fish, vegetables, ribs, eggs and bacon. The combination of a grill grate and cast-iron griddle makes it useful for both BBQ and breakfast cooking.
👥 APPROXIMATE CAPACITY
For typical meals, Ranger is suitable for approximately 2–4 people, depending on menu and portion size. Traeger's official reference is six burgers, ten hot dogs or one rib rack.

👨🍳 CASAGRILL RECOMMENDS
For ribs and other low-and-slow foods, use a lower temperature and monitor internal temperature with the included probe. For steaks, burgers or breakfast, the included cast-iron griddle provides a practical flat cooking surface.
Ranger requires an electrical supply, so make sure an appropriate power source is available when using it for camping.
🏡 IDEAL FOR
Camping, picnics, road trips, RV use, holiday homes, patios and anyone who wants Traeger wood-pellet cooking in a significantly more compact format.
⚠️ SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
Use outdoors only in a properly ventilated area and maintain the clearances to combustible materials specified in the owner's manual. Traeger's official manual warns that failure to maintain required clearances can create a fire hazard.
Protect the controller and electrical components from water. Never use petrol, alcohol or other flammable liquids for ignition. Allow the normal shutdown and cooldown procedure to finish before unplugging, cleaning or transporting the grill.
🏆 CASAGRILL VERDICT
Traeger Ranger is a practical choice for users who want real pellet-grill functionality in a portable package. Digital Arc control, Keep Warm Mode, the included meat probe and cast-iron griddle give it excellent versatility for camping, travel and small-family BBQ.
