Description
The 17 L Syton cast iron kazan with cast iron lid is practical cookware for preparing dishes over an open fire, in a stove, on a grill or on a special stand.
The 17 L capacity is suitable for cooking for approximately 20 people or up to 15 kg of food. Thanks to its compact size, the kazan is convenient for countryside use, picnics, outdoor trips and preparing dishes in the open air.
Brief
The kazan has a round bottom, so it is best suited for stoves, open fire, grills and special stands. It is not convenient to use on a flat stovetop without a suitable support, because the spherical bottom does not provide stable placement.
Functionality
The kazan is suitable for pilaf, shurpa, soups, stewed meat, vegetables, stews, roasts and other dishes that require even heating and slow cooking. The cast iron lid fits closely to the rim, helping retain heat and steam inside, so dishes become more tender and flavorful.
Materials
The kazan and lid are made of durable cast iron. This material stores heat well, distributes it evenly along the walls and cools down slowly. The 5 mm wall thickness makes the cookware practical, resistant to intensive use and convenient for open-fire cooking.
Care
Before first use, the kazan should be seasoned with oil. After cooking, it should be washed by hand, wiped completely dry and stored in a dry place. To protect cast iron from rust, it is recommended to periodically coat the inner surface with a thin layer of vegetable oil.
Features
The kazan is equipped with four side handles. This design makes it convenient to carry the vessel alone or with assistance. Two of the handles are shaped for fixing an arched handle bar. The cast iron lid has a central handle and helps maintain a stable temperature during cooking.
