Description

The Samura Blacksmith Nakiri is a traditional Japanese kitchen vegetable cleaver designed for chopping, slicing and fine mincing.

The textured Lunar Surface blade finish resembles the surface of the moon and helps reduce food sticking to the blade during cutting.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Brief
Samura Blacksmith Japanese Nakiri knife made of hand-forged AUS-8 Hammered steel, with a micarta handle, designed for precise slicing and chopping of vegetables.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Functionality
The knife is designed for chopping, slicing and mincing vegetables, herbs and fruit.

The wide blade is convenient for vertical push-cutting and quickly preparing large amounts of ingredients.

The textured blade surface creates an air gap during cutting and reduces vegetable pieces sticking to the blade.

Nakiri is especially convenient for vegetable dishes, salads and thin slicing.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Materials
The blade is made of high-carbon AUS-8 Hammered steel using hand forging.

The steel is strong, holds its edge well and is suitable for a professional kitchen tool.

The cutting edge is finished by hand on a Japanese #5000 grit water stone.

The handle is made of micarta — a durable, wear-resistant material with good stability at both high and low temperatures.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Care
The knife must not be washed in a dishwasher.

Hand washing with a soft sponge and detergent is recommended, followed by immediate drying.

To protect the blade, it is recommended to oil it periodically with camellia or clove oil.

The blade is prone to corrosion, so the knife should not be left wet after use.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ergonomics
The micarta handle sits comfortably in the hand and provides confident control during chopping.

The wide blade helps guide the movement precisely and process vegetables quickly.

The knife comes in a gift box and fabric Japanese knife roll packaging.
