Description
The traditional Japanese Nakiri hatchet from the Blacksmith series is a special kitchen knife for vegetables. It is ideal for finely chopping, cutting and crumbling. The blackened blade of the knife looks like a “Lunar Surface” - a lunar surface dotted with craters. It creates a special air cushion when cutting and prevents the pieces of vegetables from sticking to the blade. This greatly facilitates the work of both the cook and the amateur cook.
Hand-forged high-carbon steel AUS-8 Hammered, used as a material for the blade, is highly durable and perfectly sharpens – the main advantages for a professional kitchen tool. For ultra-sharp sharpening, the knife is manually finished on a Japanese water grindstone with a grain size of 5000. The wear–resistant handle of the knife is made of micarta, a material that has increased resistance to both high and low temperatures.
After use, the knife should be cleaned, rinsed in water and wiped with a dry cloth. Knives should not be stored wet. This is an important requirement to keep the blade in perfect condition for many years to come.
