We are pleased to present these traditional ceramic glazed dishes from Rishtan, one of the most ancient towns in the Fergana Valley. Rishtan crockery is notable for its bright colors and very tiny delicate ornament consisting of an enormous number of elements. Dot painting is an ancient technique used for creating patterns: if you take a closer look, you will notice that the ornament on the dishes consists of voluminous dots – this is a very meticulous and time-consuming work. Each item handmade by Uzbek craftsmen is unique: you won’t find a single repeating pattern.
